The Butlers Room
This cosy room is located within the attic/loft of the historic main house. In the 1950’s and 1960’s The Lygon boasted one of the most glamourous guest books in the world. Two of the hotels most notable guests over this period were Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor who occupied the snug rooms at the height of the scandal surrounding their affair in 1963. Cleopatra had just been released in Britain and The VIP’s had just opened in America. The Lygon offered a welcome romantic retreat to escape the paparazzi.
With antique furniture and quirky period features these rooms are perfect for individuals or couples taking a short break in Broadway.
